Grief
How would you define grief? Is that an emotion where you feel extreme pain of loss or mourn for something that is lost forever? In whatever manner you want to see it, there is one thing that is common, the excruciating pain, the pain that threatens to tear you apart and make you a walking dead.
You feel that extreme anguish and often want to hang on to it, because somehow that grief becomes a thread that binds you to your loss, it makes everything real, that final straw that you don't want to let go.
No one can understand what one has lost, it is deeply personal. The piercing pain is theirs and you cannot partake in it.
But, you know you can silently stand besides them, wrap your arms around their shoulders and wipe off those tears. You know you can do that, don't you?
